Halifax Regional Police have charged two adults in relation to the stabbing death of a teenager outside of a Halifax mall in April.

The 16-year-old victim, Ahmad Maher Al Marrach, was found wounded in a parking lot at the Halifax Shopping Centre on April 22 and died later in hospital.

Four youths — a 14-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys — were previously charged with second-degree murder in relation to the incident. The youths are scheduled to go on trial in September.

Police say two people were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly providing false information to investigators and assisting the accused in avoiding arrest in Al Marrach's death.

They say two adults, a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, are now facing one count each of accessory to commit an indictable offence.

The youths' names are protected by a publication ban, and police say they are unable to provide further details.
