74-year-old man in Sydney found safe after being reported missing

A Cape Breton man missing since Thursday afternoon was located Friday afternoon, police say.

Police said the man was last seen around 4 p.m. Thursday. He was located Friday afternoon.

Cape Breton Regional Police say a missing 74-year-old man they were searching for has been found safe.

The man was reported missing Thursday night after he failed to return home from a drive in Sydney's Lingan Road area.

Authorities issued alerts concerning his disappearance — one Thursday night across CBRM and the other Friday morning across the province.

Police reported Friday afternoon the man had been found and thanked the public for their assistance.
