Parts of Cape Breton could see 25 centimetres of snow

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Mabou and north part of Inverness County. The weather agency said 25 centimetres of snow is expected over the Highlands.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Mabou and the northern part of Inverness County.

The weather agency said 25 centimetres of snow is expected over the Cape Breton Highlands.

It said that while periods of rain are expected Sunday near the coast, there will be some snow falling over the Highlands.

"On Monday, wet snow or rain is expected along the coast, and periods of heavy snow is expected over the Highlands," said Environment Canada.

It's cautioning people to consider postponing non-essential travel.
