Halifax Regional Police are looking for a man who is accused of robbing a Needs Convenience store — again.

Police are looking for 23-year-old Shane Thomas Robinson, wanted in connection with a robbery at Petro-Canada on Quinpool. (HRP)

Police say the tall, thin man, who looked to be in his 30s, threatened staff at the Needs store on Chebucto Road Monday at around 10 p.m.

Officers believe it's the same man who robbed a Needs store in Dartmouth on Sunday night.

Police say in both cases, the suspect had a knife and got away with cigarettes and cash.

There was a similar robbery at the Petro-Canada station on Quinpool Road on New Years Day.

In that case police have identified a suspect who's still at large — he's 23-year-old Shane Thomas Robinson. Robinson has a red star tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Convenience store and gas station robberies happen from time to time in the Halifax region.

The Hydrostone Groceteria in north-end Halifax was robbed at gunpoint 10 years ago, just before Derek Ross started working there.

He said he worries more about robberies when there are a number of them, as has happened recently in Halifax.

After the robbery 10 years ago, the owner of Hydrostone Groceteria installed numerous cameras.
