Man evades police by driving truck through N.S. golf course
Suspect arrested Thursday facing charges of impaired operation of a vehicle, among others
A suspect has been arrested after a man fled from RCMP by driving a truck over a golf course in the Comeauville, N.S., area.
The Mounties said in a news release Thursday the man was in a black pickup truck with no licence plate when he was seen by officers Wednesday night on Highway 1.
They said an officer tried to execute a traffic stop, but the driver did not comply. The officer then followed the truck that was travelling at what police called "an increasing rate of speed in a dangerous manner."
The driver then turned onto PFComeau Road, still travelling quickly.
RCMP say the officer deactivated his lights and sirens and stopped his vehicle. He was able to see the man drive onto a golf course and into a wooded area.
The truck was later found abandoned near the end of the golf course.
