A former spokesman for the Nova Scotia premier has pleaded guilty to assault.
Kyley Harris, who had earlier pleaded not guilty, changed his plea on Tuesday in Halifax provincial court.
He will be sentenced on March 19.
Harris, who was charged after a domestic incident on May 9, was the communications director for Premier Stephen McNeil.
He was fired on May 20, with McNeil saying the dismissal was necessary because Harris waited four days to tell the government he was facing a charge.
At the time, McNeil said Harris wasn't let go right away because a week-long review was needed to determine whether anyone else inside the government knew about what had happened.
