Kalin Mitchell, CBC News meteorologist, says the Maritimes is going to take a hit with this late season snowstorm, but who will get what and when?

Here is his timeline of how this storm will develop.

Nova Scotia

Saturday

8 p.m.: Snowing in Digby/Yarmouth/Shelburne Counties. Wind becoming east with gusts 20 to 30 km/h.

10 p.m.: Snowing along a line from Greenwood to Lunenburg and west.  Digby/Yarmouth/Shelburne Counties mixing with ice pellets and freezing rain. Wind becoming east with gusts 20 to 40 km/h.

Sunday

12 a.m.: Snowing along a line from Halifax to Kentville and west. Digby/Yarmouth/Shelburne Counties seeing a mix of ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain.  East winds with gusts 30 to 50 km/h.

2 a.m.: Snowing along a line from a.m.herst to Sheet Harbour and west. Digby/Yarmouth/Shelburne Counties seeing a mix of ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain.  Northeast winds with gusts 40 to 60 km/h.

4 a.m.: Snowing along a line from New Glasgow to Sherbrooke and west. Digby/Yarmouth/Shelburne Counties seeing a mix of ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain. Northeast winds with gusts 40 to 60 km/h except 70 to 80 km/h for exposed areas of the coast.

6 a.m.: Snowing across mainland Nova Scotia. Digby/Yarmouth/Shelburne Counties seeing a mix of ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain. Northeast winds with gusts 50 to 70 km/h except 70 to 90 km/h for exposed areas of the coast.

8 a.m.:  Snowing in Richmond and southern Inverness County on Cape Breton. Snowing across the mainland but mixed heavily with ice pellets and freezing rain Halifax/Lunenburg/Queens/Shelburne/Yarmouth/Digby Counties. Mostly rain along the coast from Shelburne to Yarmouth. Northeast winds with gusts 50 to 70 km/h except 70 to 90 km/h for exposed areas of the coast.

10 a.m.: Snowing across Nova Scotia. Snow mixed heavily with ice pellets and freezing rain Halifax/Lunenburg/Queens/Shelburne/Yarmouth/Digby Counties. Mostly rain along the coast from Shelburne to Yarmouth. Northeast winds with gusts 60 to 80 km/h except to 90 km/h for exposed areas of the coast.

6 p.m.: Snowing across Nova Scotia. Areas previously seeing a mix of ice pellets and freezing rain starting to turn back snow. Winds turning north with gusts 50 to 70 km/h except to 80 km/h for exposed areas of the coast.  

8 p.m.: Snowing steadily in Cumberland/Colchester/Pictou/Antigonish/Guysborough Counties and across Cape Breton.  Periods of snow for the rest of the mainland. Winds turning north with gusts 50 to 70 km/h except to 80 km/h for exposed areas of the coast.  

10 p.m.: Snowing steadily in Cumberland/Colchester/Pictou/Antigonish/Guysborough Counties and across Cape Breton.  Periods of snow for the rest of the mainland. North winds with gusts 50 to 70 km/h except to 80 km/h for exposed areas of the coast.

Monday
