Police were seen going door-to-door on Alsek Road on Tuesday morning, following a sudden death at a home in Riverdale last week.

The Yukon RCMP says it was alerted to the death of a man in the Riverdale area on the evening of April 6. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the body of a 45-year-old man.

In a statement, the RCMP said that its major crimes unit is investigating, along with the Yukon Coroner's Service. An autopsy has been ordered.

The RCMP has not released the name of the man nor details about the circumstances of his death, other than to say there is no risk to the public.

A Riverdale resident confirmed police had been at her door asking if she'd seen anything suspicious in the area.
