Yellowknife RCMP are investigating a robbery at the Winks convenience store on Forrest Drive early Sunday.

At around 2 a.m. a man walked into the store and demanded cash from the employees. He was armed with a knife and a can of what is believed to be pepper spray.

An undisclosed amount of cash was handed over, and the suspect then fled. The employees were not injured.

The police dog tracked the suspect across the street near the Yellowknife Community Arena, and police believe the suspect may have driven away from that point.

Police released photos taken from the video surveillance and are asking anyone with information on the suspect in the photos to contact the Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
