Trip aimed at drumming up support for airline's Whitehorse-Yellowknife-Ottawa route
Whitehorse Mayor Dan Curtis and Yukon tourism minister Elaine Taylor are heading to Yellowknife in October to promote Air North's service between the capital cities.
The Yukon-based airline began flying twice a week between Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Ottawa in February 2014.
Curtis says the trip is aimed at drumming up support for the route from businesses and from the N.W.T.
"I think it's an opportunity for businesses and for Air North, and for people to realize what a great connect it is," he said.
The Yukon Chamber of Commerce and the Yukon Department of Economic Development are jointly sponsoring the trip.
Chamber members are being offered discount airfare if they want to participate.
The trip is planned for Oct. 1-2.
