Yukon RCMP say a man has been arrested in Vancouver in connection with a robbery in Whitehorse six months ago.

Bernie's Race Trac Gas was held up in April by a man wielding a blow torch. Police say the robber left with about $700, some of which was later found by police tracking the suspect.

RCMP then issued a Canada-wide warrant. Police say a 34-year-old Vancouver man was arrested last week by police in that city, after "information came to light" identifying him as a suspect.

The man was brought back to Yukon, where he appeared in court earlier this week. His next court appearance is Oct. 28.

Yukon RCMP say they're still investigating the April robbery.

They also continue to investigate two similar hold-ups that happened last spring. Goody's Gas Bar, in Whitehorse's Porter Creek neighbourhood, was robbed twice by someone with a blow torch, in May and June.
