A man armed with a blow torch tried to rob Goody's Gas Bar in Whitehorse Thursday night, a month after a previous blow torch robbery.

The man walked into Goody's Gas in Porter Creek just before 9 p.m., carrying a blow torch. He demanded cash from the store clerks.

Police say the suspect fled on foot after being confronted by a staff member. He was last seen heading toward the Crocus Glen subdivision.

No cash or property was taken, and none of the staff was injured.

The suspect is described as possibly being of First Nations descent, about 5 foot 6 inches tall, with a round face and a moustache. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark-coloured hoodie.

Goody's Gas Bar was previously robbed on May 10 by a man brandishing a blow torch. The suspect in that robbery was described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and possibly of First Nations descent.
