Pedestrian struck by pick-up truck in Yellowknife

A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck on 52nd Avenue during Thursday morning rush hour in Yellowknife.

A pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck on 52nd Avenue during the Thursday morning rush hour in Yellowknife.

RCMP say at about 8:30 a.m. a male pedestrian stepped into the road and the driver was unable to avoid the collision.

The victim was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital for treatment.

RCMP say the victim was intoxicated and the driver of the pick-up was sober. No charges are expected to be laid.

This is the second time in a week an intoxicated pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle in Yellowknife.
