A Yellowknife pedestrian was injured Thursday after walking into traffic on Old Airport Road at around 10 p.m.

RCMP say the man was intoxicated and wearing dark-coloured clothing and the driver of the pick-up truck didn't see the man in time to avoid hitting him.

Police were called to the scene near the Petro-pass station and the injured man was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital.

RCMP don't expect to lay any charges.
