Iqaluit blizzard winds down, water service restored
The city of Iqaluit suspended municipal services Saturday morning.
Water has been restored to Tundra Valley and the Road to Nowhere after a water hydrant break earlier today
Environment Canada has ended its blizzard warning for Iqaluit, although the city is still experiencing reduced visibility and winds gusting to 60km/h.
For the second day in a row, the city of Iqaluit suspended non-emergency municipal services on Saturday due to blizzard conditions.
Blizzard warnings are still in effect for Arviat, Baker Lake, and the Rankin Region, including Whale Cove.
Water back on
Water has been restored to units 2700s and 4000s at Tundra Valley and the Road to Nowhere. A hydrant break near the Ivavik Building and Joamie School in Iqaluit this morning forced the city to shut off the water while it worked on the problem.
