A fire near the Jackfish Lake power plant in Yellowknife damaged a mobile generator Monday night.

The fire broke out in a mobile unit, located in a trailer near the plant, according to a Northwest Territories Power Corporation news release. No power outages or injuries occurred as a result of the fire, which was extinguished by the Yellowknife fire department.

Mike Ocko, the acting president and CEO of the NTPC, said in a news release that "once the site is deemed safe by the fire department NTPC will determine the extent of the damage," adding his thanks to the city's fire department.

No foul play is suspected in the fire, though the N.W.T. Fire Marshal continues to investigate the cause.
