Striking town workers in Hay River, N.W.T., will set up a picket line at the town's curling rink this weekend.
An earlier statement from the mayor said the curling rink would continue to function during the strike.
The club and the ice is maintained by volunteers but the union says the refrigeration equipment is owned, maintained and operated by town employees.
There are tournaments planned for the next two weekends at the club. The union says it will set up the picket line there on Saturday.
The strike began Monday with a picket line at the town recreation centre. That worried arena users, including the local figure skating club. It is scheduled to host a territorial figure skating competition this weekend.
