Premier Bob McLeod will run in this fall's territorial election.

His constituency office confirmed the news yesterday.

McLeod is completing his second term as MLA for the Yellowknife South riding.

If re-elected, McLeod would have a chance to become the first elected official in the N.W.T. to have a second term as premier.

Under the territory's consensus form of government, all MLAs choose the premier after the general election.

The election is scheduled to take place November 23.
