Roadway revolutions: Roundabout opens at the St. John's Airport
Roundabout, cellphone lot opened at the airport on Monday afternoon
Wanna go for a spin?
The St. John's International Airport opened its new roundabout on Monday, just after lunch.
The traffic fixture, announced in June as part of the expansion at the airport, confronts drivers heading to the airport on World Parkway.

Traffic directions are painted on the lanes on the street, and in the run-up to the grand opening, the airport authority made an infographic with directions for drivers.
To turn right, or continue through the roundabout in the right lane of World Parkway, you should approach the roundabout from the right lane. To turn left, or drive to the left lane of World Parkway, you should approach the roundabout from the left lane.
Drivers are asked to keep circling if they miss their turn, though Marie Manning, a spokesperson for the airport, says no one has gotten stuck so far.
Drivers were moving through the roundabout on Wednesday; Manning says the airport isn't aware of any problems whatsoever.

The airport has also opened a cellphone waiting lot, where drivers can call and check on their friends and family before heading to the terminal to pick them up. During the next few months, the airport says the lot will be equipped with free wireless internet.
"The roundabout was installed to manage traffic flows in and around the airport," the airport authority wrote in a statement. "A number of new developments planned for the area...as well as growth in the number of passengers travelling through the Airport is anticipated to increase traffic."
