George Street stabbing suspect, 18, facing charges

The bail hearing for a teenager facing serious charges after a stabbing in downtown St. John's started in court on Monday.

On the weekend, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the victim sustained significant, but non-life threatening, injuries.

He was taken to the Health Sciences Centre for treatment.

Long is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and having a concealed weapon.

He is also charged with damaging property at RNC headquarters.

The bail hearing is set to continue on Tuesday in provincial court.
