First Listen: Museum by AE Bridger
Multi-instrumentalist releases music album and long-form music video
AE Bridger's new album, Museum, is available as both an album of music and as a long form streaming music video, kind of like Beyoncé has done with her recent work, Lemonade.
"I'm interested in how a visual accompaniment can lend context to the music I do," said Bridger.
Bridger wrote most of the music for Museum while he was living in Montreal, and working with filmmaker friend, Julien Boutillier.
"I basically agreed to star in his film for free, in exchange for being able to use the footage."
Bridger said his work is influenced by a wide range of musical genres, from Gregorian chant to rock and roll.
He admitted his music is hard to classify, but Bridger said he aims for a "raw, naked sound" in his music.
I always say that I'm obsessed with cave drawings," he said.
"Everything to me has to be like a cave drawing."
