The funeral for a young man killed after the car he was driving nose-dived off a highway in Mount Pearl was held Wednesday morning.

Brendan Lawlor, 21, from Conception Bay South, died last Wednesday.

Lawlor was driving eastbound on Pitts Memorial Drive, when his car left the road and ended up on its front end on Richard Nolan Drive, underneath the overpass. The vehicle then caught on fire.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is looking to talk to anyone who saw Lawlor's 2008 blue Audi travelling on Pitts Memorial Drive, prior to the fatal crash.
