The RCMP have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the "suspicious" death of a toddler in New Brunswick more than 11 years ago.
Two-year-old Kennedy Corrigan, of Central Blissville, south of Fredericton, suffered a massive brain injury on April 2, 2004, and died a week later at the IWK Hospital in Halifax.
Medical evidence at the time of her death supported the police theory of a non-accidental death, but was not definitive, Const. Jullie Rogers-Marsh said in a statement.
Crime Stoppers said the injury allegedly happened after the little girl fell in the bathtub and bumped her head.
New evidence has come to light, however, leading to the man's arrest on Tuesday, said Rogers-Marsh.
The accused is expected to face charges in Burton provincial court on Wednesday.
