Notre-Dame Street West has been reopened to traffic following repairs to a sinkhole that appeared there earlier this week.

Southwest borough officials had ordered crews to work through the night to reopen the street as soon as possible.

The sinkhole appeared Tuesday afternoon and forced the closure of Notre-Dame between Place St-Henri and Rue du Couvent.

It was blamed on two broken drainage systems.

The borough expects the street to reopen by the afternoon of July 22. (Google Map)
