Canada election 2015: Voter's Voice in Ahuntsic-Cartierville

Throughout the federal election campaign, Daybreak's Mike Finnerty and Shari Okeke are hitting the road to hear directly from voters as they decide who they want to form the next Canadian government.

This week, they headed out to the newly reconfigured riding of Ahuntstic-Cartierville.

In 2011, Ahuntsic was only riding anywhere in the Greater Montreal area that elected a Bloc Québécois MP, one of only four in all of Quebec which survived the so-called Orange Crush. 

But that MP, Maria Mourani, had a falling out with the party after she came out publicly against the Parti Québécois's secular charter. 

Now a federalist, Mourani is running under the NDP banner this election. She'll be facing stiff competition, especially from the Liberals who are running a star candidate many remember from the Montreal mayoral race, Mélanie Joly.

Last time around, fewer than 2,000 votes separated the NDP, the Liberals and the Bloc.
