AMT trains in and out of Lucien-L'Allier delayed after water main break
Commuter train authority says it doesn't have enough shuttle buses to accommodate passengers
AMT commuter trains on Vaudreuil-Hudson, St-Jérôme and Candiac lines are struggling to get to the downtown Montreal train terminal due to a water main break.
An eight-inch pipe burst early Friday morning near Belgrave Avenue and De Maisonneuve Boulevard in NDG, causing ice to form near the tracks.
Train service affected:
- Trains on Vaudreuil-Hudson line will make it to Lucien-L'Allier, but at a reduced speed.
- St-Jérôme trains will stop at Parc and De La Concorde stations, where passengers can continue their journey on the Metro.
- Candiac trains will make it through to Lucien-L'Allier at reduced speed.
Previously, the AMT planned for Candiac-line passengers to disembark at Montreal West and take shuttles to Vendôme Metro station even though it didn't have enough shuttles to respond sufficiently to the demand.
The STM ended up supplying extra 105 Sherbrooke buses to run the length of Sherbrooke Street West between Montreal West and Vendôme.
"We were aware of the situation at 4:30 this morning and we were able to put an emergency plan on the road with those buses. We will try to get more buses as the day goes by if the situation needs more buses, but we [are doing] our best this morning to serve our customers," said Fanie St-Pierre of the AMT.
