A 19-year-old man died Monday after his pickup truck crashed into an SUV at an intersection in southern Manitoba last Wednesday.

The young man, who was from the Rural Municipality of Stanley, was driving eastbound just south of Winkler when it collided with a southbound SUV at an intersection around 4 p.m. on March 22, RCMP said.

He was transported to hospital and was in critical condition until he died on Monday.

The driver of the SUV, a 34-year-old woman from Deloraine, suffered minor injuries.

Alcohol is not considered to be a factor. RCMP say the Deloraine driver was wearing a seatbelt, but it's unclear whether the young man was.

RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
