Serious injuries reported after 2 vehicles collide near Winkler, Man.

One person was flown to Winnipeg's Heath Sciences Centre by STARS Air Ambulance with critical injuries following a crash between two vehicles near Winkler, Man., on Sunday.

RCMP said eight people were in the two vehicles when they collided on Highway 32 early Sunday afternoon south of the community. 

All eight were taken to hospital, an RCMP spokesperson said. 

Police said there are serious injuries and all involved are from the Winkler area. 

A spokesperson for STARS Air Ambulance told CBC News that their crew flew one person with critical injuries to HSC while the others were taken to local hospitals by ground ambulances. 

RCMP said a forensic collision reconstructionist is investigating the crash and expect to release more details on Monday. 

Winkler is located about 100 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg.
