Woman also charged with 2nd-degree murder in August North End shooting
Raine Jannelle Dakota Gauthier, 28, charged with 2nd-degree murder in death of Colin Bernardin Hebert
A 28-year-old woman from Winnipeg is now the third person charged in connection with a shooting on a summer night at a home in the city's North End.
Raine Jannelle Dakota Gauthier has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Colin Bernardin Hebert, who was shot on Redwood Avenue in August. Gauthier is being held in custody.
Gauthier and the victim knew each other before the shooting, police said in a news release Wednesday.
Police were called to a home on Redwood Avenue between Aikins and Andrews streets around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 7.
They discovered Hebert seriously injured and in need of immediate emergency medical care; he was taken to hospital in critical condition. Hebert later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Two men, 32 and 36 years old, were previously arrested in connection with Bernardin's death.
Pierre Flett, 36, faces several charges, including second-degree murder, firearms contraventions, failing to comply with conditions of a release order and possession of methamphetamine. Jared Jackson Bushie, 32, is charged with second-degree murder.
They were both detained in custody at the time of their arrests, police say.
