Winnipeg drivers won't be able to park on certain streets overnight once the city's annual winter route parking ban takes effect next week.
Parking will be prohibited on designated streets between 2 and 7 a.m. starting Tuesday, Jan. 16, the city said in a release Monday.
The ban remains in place even if it's not snowing or the road appears to have been cleared. It will likely be lifted sometime in the spring, the city said.
Those who violate the ban could get a $100 ticket, or $75 if they pay early. Their vehicle might also be towed.
Winnipeg residents can look up winter parking bans in their neighbourhood on the city's website.
