Services around Winnipeg will commemorate Remembrance Day

Each year in November millions of Canadians pay tribute and collectively remember military servicemen who died for their country, and a number of services and ceremonies will be held around Winnipeg on Monday.

Each year in November millions of Canadians pay tribute and collectively remember military servicemen who died for their country, and a number of services and ceremonies will be held around Winnipeg on Monday.

For over 100 years, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month has been marked by solemn appreciation and a moment of silence in honour of Remembrance Day, originally called Armistice Day, commemorating the armistice agreement that ended the First World War on Nov. 11, 1918, at 11 a.m.

Here are some of the services taking place in Winnipeg. You can also check the Royal Canadian Legion's website to find a service near you.
