Geese strolling across highway cause crash in south Winnipeg
A crash blamed on geese crossing the road closed some lanes of the Perimeter Highway in south Winnipeg on Tuesday.
Manitoba Public Insurance has received 70 claims for crashes involving geese so far in 2017
Geese are being blamed for a crash that closed some lanes of the Perimeter Highway in south Winnipeg on Tuesday.
The collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. just east of the intersection with St. Mary's Road.
An eastbound pickup truck pulling a utility trailer rear-ended an SUV that had stopped for "numerous geese crossing the highway," the RCMP said.
No one was injured and the roads were reopened about an hour later, after the debris was cleaned away.
Manitoba Public Insurance said it has received 70 claims so far this year for goose-related crashes.
