Man, 70, shot in head with BB gun while walking in downtown Winnipeg

A 70-year-old man left a downtown Winnipeg restaurant and was walking along Hargrave Street when he was shot in the head with a BB gun, police say.

A 70-year-old man was walking away from a downtown Winnipeg restaurant when he was shot in the head with a BB gun, police say.

Two boys, aged 12 and 14, and a 13-year-old girl are facing assault and firearm charges 

Police were called just after 12 a.m. Monday to the area of Portage Avenue and Hargrave Street, near Canada Life Centre.

They found the man and provided emergency medical care until he was rushed to hospital in unstable condition. He has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Witnesses in the area provided a description to police of the shooters, who were arrested a short time later.

Investigators believe the boys and girl were randomly shooting the firearm, and that there could be other victims who have not yet been identified.
