Wanted man arrested for manslaughter, Winnipeg police say

Karl Earl Settee, 31, was wanted for manslaughter and was arrested on Nov. 14 around noon in the death of Shawn Douglas Thomas, 33, police said in a news release Friday.

A man, 31, has been arrested for manslaughter in the killing of a Peguis First Nation man, who died after he was found in critical condition in the city's North End last month.

Karl Earl Settee was arrested around noon on Nov. 14 in the death of Shawn Douglas Thomas, 33, police said in a news release Friday.

Thomas is from Peguis, around 180 kilometres north of Winnipeg, but was living in the city at the time of his death.

Winnipeg police had put out a news release asking the public for help locating Settee a week before his arrest.

They found Settee in the area of Higgins Avenue and King Street. He's being held in custody.
