Batmaro, Stormaro, Spidey Subaru: Winnipeg car and comic enthusiasts show off their creations

It’s not often Batman, Spiderman and a Stormtrooper are in a room together – but when it comes to showing off their cars they will make an exception.

The superhero and car enthusiasts showed off their sweet rides at Manitoba Comic Con in Winnipeg over the weekend.

"I am looking out for the people of the Gotham of Canada. Patrolling the streets late at night and Batman needs a ride," said Winnipeg's Batman, who refused to give up his secret identity.

The Batmaro wasn't the only car on display, Winnipeg's Spiderman, also known as Benni Blaze, brought his Spidey Subaru to the RCB Convention Centre.

Blaze said he grew up with a love for cars, racing video games and the 90s Spiderman television show.

"It's a little extension of my personality and it created what you see before you," Blaze said, pointing to the customized 2015 Subaru WRX.

Not one to be outdone, Davis Simpkins had to represent Star Wars fans by bringing out his Stormaro.

"I've always like the Stormtroopers. I think they are underrated in the movies," Simpkins said with a laugh.

"Everybody focuses on Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker and I just wanted to create something different."

The 2016 Camaro RS Stormtrooper edition even received licensing from Lucas Arts. While he drives around in a vehicle fit for the troops of the Galactic Empire, Simpkins said the car gives him the force so he can get smiles from children and other drivers.

"When I'm driving down the road and I get people giving me a thumbs up and little kids faces light up, that's what really makes it worthwhile for me," he said.
