Police seek more victims after London man allegedly uses Snapchat to lure teens
Police say he used the Snapchat name Scottyboyy2002 posing as a 14-year-old boy
The London police are looking for more victims after a man was caught for the second time allegedly using Snapchat to lure and sexually assault teenagers.
David G. Nicol is facing more than 30 new sexual assault charges in relation to incidents that date back to 2018 but were only brought to investigators' attention last month.
The 50-year-old was also charged in 2021 with multiple sexual assault offences for allegedly luring a different victim who told police she was kidnapped when she met the man at a local shopping plaza.
In both instances, Nicol used the social media platform Snapchat under the account name 'Scottyboyy2002', where he posed as a 14-year-old boy to lure the teens.
"Through the course of subsequent interactions, the man offered to exchange money and drugs for sexual favours from the victim," police said in a statement. "Fearful for her safety, the victim complied with the accused's requests."
Police said Nicol recorded many of the interactions on his phone.
Nicol is charged with the following offences:
- Four counts of sexual assault;
- Four counts of luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication;
- Four counts of luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication;
- Four counts of abduction of person under sixteen years of age;
- Four counts of sexual interference with person under 16 years of age;
- Four counts of invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age;
- Four counts of print/publish/possess to publish child pornography; and
- Three counts of unlawfully possess child pornography.
Nicol appeared in court Wednesday, after police made the charges and arrest public. He will be back in court Thursday for a bail hearing.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging the public to come forward if they have any information.
