London Police arrested multiple people at a home in a south London suburb following a tense standoff on Tuesday.

The standoff on Kinnear Crescent began when officers tried to search the home, according to police, who remain tight-lipped in terms of details pertaining to the incident. A light armoured vehicle was on scene.

"The investigation we're dealing with today is ongoing, and as such we can't speak to the details of it," said Const. Matthew Dawson.

Police wouldn't confirm the number of people who had been arrested in connection with the standoff.

The address was known to investigators, police said.

On Mar. 15, police officers arrested two people who were seen in a vehicle outside the home. In that instance, police said they found cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs, along with a stolen vehicle.

"This has been going on for about eight or 10 years now," said neighbour Calum Contursi. "I hope there's definitely an end to this. This is a lovely neighborhood and it's just unfortunate because that keeps on happening."
