WATCH: Twins prank Londoners into thinking they're experiencing deja vu
Twins Niko and Marko Martinovic go viral with lighthearted “glitch in the Matrix” pranks
It's not a glitch in the Matrix, and it's not deja vu.
Twins Niko and Marko Martinovic have been pranking unsuspecting Londoners with their identical looks, filming the videos for their YouTube channel called Even Out.
"As kids, we were even worse," said Marko. "We always pulled pranks on our parents, on our friends, and on our teachers."
In one video, the twins lined up back-to-back at a drive-thru in separate vehicles, wearing identical clothing. Marko orders a pop, then asks for sugar at the window. Niko follows and repeats the same order, with sugar, mystifying the staff. The video has been viewed more than 4 million times.
In another prank, Marko goes into a changing room at a clothing store with an outfit and Niko emerges second later wearing that full outfit, not unlike Superman emerging from a phone booth.
"Some people don't think twins exist for some reason," says Marko, explaining why it's easy to trick people into thinking they have double vision.
Their videos have surpassed millions of views and are spreading across platforms such as Reddit and TikTok.
"Our pranks don't set us up to get into the position of upsetting people," said Niko, adding that he hopes they appeal to families and kids.
In August, the Martinovics plan to head to Twinsburg, Ohio, for the Twin Days Festival, billed as the largest annual gathering of twins and multiples in the world. There they will attempt to break a Guinness World Record, by doing a prank with 20 or more pairs of twins all walking out of store fronts on opposite sides of a street at once.
