Lucan wins! Kraft Hockeyville is coming to town

The small town of Lucan, Ont. showed big love for the game of hockey winning the Kraft Hockeyville contest.

The small town of Lucan, Ont., showed big love for the game of hockey winning the Kraft Hockeyville contest. 

Lucan, with a population of just under 5,000 people, came out on top after nine million votes were cast in the contest decided Saturday night.

The victory means Lucan will get $250,000 for arena improvements, plus $10,000 worth of hockey equipment from the National Hockey League Players' Association.

The town will also host an NHL pre-season game.

Other community finalists in the contest were: 

  • High River, Alta. 
  • Lafleche, Sask. 
  • Huntingdon, Que.
