London police are investigating after a crash at a Shell gas station sent one to hospital and caused "extensive" damage.

Authorities were called to the incident in the area of Fanshawe Park Road and North Centre Road at about 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Police said a car went off the road and collided with a pump, severing a gas line, and then it crashed into the car wash. Police said the car also hit and knocked over a pole.

Police said the lone occupant was an elderly woman. She was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

"I'm not sure what the intentions were. That's part of the investigation that's still ongoing," said Const. Matt Hopkins.

The cost of the damages remains unknown, however, Hopkins said it is "extensive."

The gas pumps were shut off and officials scoured the area much of Sunday.
