Police have arrested a Hamilton man they say pretended to run a modelling agency and asked for pictures from a London girl through Instagram.

London police also said they fear there could be more victims.

Officers are asking for anyone who has been in contact with or has shared images with Instagram user @amanda_brouwerr to contact police.

The investigation began after a 10-year-old London girl told her parents about a conversation she had with someone on Instagram, the photo-sharing social media service.

Police say the account @amanda_browerr has more than 1,500 followers and is attached to profile information stating it's a modelling page. The account picture is of a young girl.

Requested pictures of feet

Police allege the man contacted the young girl through direct message, saying he was a 13-year-old named Amanda. The man asked the girl if she wished to model for the Instagram page, and requested pictures of her feet, police say.

On Wednesday, members of London's Internet Child Exploitation Unit searched a home on Glenburn Court in Hamilton and seized a mobile device. Investigators say they found what they suspect to be child pornography on the phone.

A 24-year-old Hamilton man is charged with invitation to sexual touching, possession of child pornography and two counts of luring a person under 16 years of age by telecommunication.

He is to appear in a London court on Feb. 20.

London police want anyone who has been in contact with the Instagram account to contact them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
