Jackie Schleifer Taylor out as president of region's largest hospital system
Schleifer Taylor's departure is effective June 10, hospital board says
Jackie Schleifer Taylor is out as president and CEO of the region's largest hospital system and the city's biggest employer, the board that oversees the position announced Tuesday morning.
"London Health Sciences Centre's (LHSC) Board of Directors and Dr. Jackie Schleifer Taylor have mutually agreed that Dr. Schleifer Taylor's employment as president and CEO of LHSC has ended effective June 10, 2024," the hospital said in a statement
"We thank Dr. Schleifer Taylor for her years of service and contributions to LHSC."
The hospital's executives and board members would be making no further comment or answering any questions about the departure, a media spokesperson said.
David Musyj will continue as acting president and CEO, a position to which he was appointed in late May.
Schleifer Taylor has been off on medical leave since November 2023. She took over the top job in January 2021 after the former president was fired for travelling during the pandemic.
The hospital network, which includes University Hospital, Victoria Hospital and Children's Hospital, faces a large deficit this year. It employs 15,000 people.
