A London, Ont. man has been charged with three counts of conspiracy to smuggle persons into the United States.
The RCMP says the investigation began in September 2017 when it was contacted by U.S. Homeland Security about persons entering the United States from Canada illegally.
It tasked its financial crime unit in London to lead the investigation.
As a result, police charged 27-year-old Trong Hoang Nguyen of London.
No other details are known at this time.
In a written statement, Insp. Joe Czenze said the RCMP is committed to working with its partners in Canada and the United States to disrupt illegal migration.
Nguyen will appear in a London courtroom July 20.
