Emergency crews arrived on the scene after reports of a crash between a transport truck and pickup truck in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 at Colonel Talbot Road shortly after 3 p.m., according to provincial police.

The driver of the transport truck was uninjured, police say.

OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk warned drivers in the westbound lanes driving past the crash to stop taking pictures.

"Officers will be setting up on the roadway and if you happen to be on your cell phone, I can anticipate you're going to be stopped and given the ticket." he said.

Middlesex County OPP,  London Fire Department and London Middlesex EMS attended to the collision.

"Our thoughts and prayers go to everyone affected by this tragedy," Sanchuck said.

"Thank you to the Good Samaritans that stopped to try and render aid. You really made a difference. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You made a really difficult situation easier today."

OPP are asking the public who has dash cam footage of the crash to get in touch with investigators at 1-888-310-1122.
