Victim did not know shooter in daytime drive-by shooting
Police say the vehicle sped down Marconi and onto Gore Road after a driver was shot at nearby intersection
A drive-by shooting this past weekend in the middle of the afternoon has police asking the public to help identify the suspect vehicle.
New photos show a white Chevrolet Cruze travelling through an east-end neighbourhood prior to the shooting at Admiral Drive and Trafalgar Street.
Police allege the driver behind the wheel pulled up alongside the victim's vehicle which was stopped at the intersection, pulled a gun and shot the man.
It happened Saturday around 4 p.m..
Constable Shayna Boland said the victim, who remains in hospital recovering from serious injuries, did not know the suspect.
"All we can say is that we are investigating exactly why it happened. All we know is that they weren't known to each other," Boland said.
Prior to the shooting, the white Cruze was spotted making erratic moves and travelling extremely fast.
"We're asking for any information from the public in regard to the vehicle or the driver," Boland said.
The Cruze was last seen travelling south on Marconi Boulevard and eventually westbound on Gore Road.
