COVID-19 outbreak in 4 London-area long term care homes

Four nursing and retirement homes in the London region have reported outbreaks of COVID-19 with seven people being treated for the virus.
Reports from the Middlesex London Health Unit show one person tested positive Thursday at Chelsey Park in London.
Two cases are being treated at Grand Wood Retirement Residence, where the facility's administration says the individuals are in isolation.
Seasons Retirement Community in Strathroy had a person test positive for the virus on Wednesday.
At Henley Place, one resident was sent to hospital with a confirmed case, while a second person was diagnosed earlier in the week.
Across the province, the situation unfolding in nursing and retirement homes is dire. At least 40 people have died of complications linked to COVID-19.
Earlier in the week, public health units told CBC at least 41 facilities in Ontario were experiencing an outbreak.
An outbreak is defined as one lab-confirmed positive test among a resident or staff member.
