Waterloo regional police say officers are investigating a targeted shooting in the early morning hours of Thursday.

The shooting happened in the area of Queenston Road and Westminster Drive S., police said.

"At this time there is no information to indicate that anyone was injured," police said on the service's website.

"Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident, however are reminding the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or individuals to police."

Police have confirmed this is the 13th shooting incident in the cities so far this year.
