Fire at Centre Wellington sawmill suspicious, police say
Palettes of hardwood destroyed in early morning blaze
An early morning fire at a sawmill east of Fergus, Ont., is being treated as suspicious, officials say.
Fire crews were called to the sawmill on Sixth Line, just north of Wellington Road 22 in Centre Wellington at 2 a.m. Wednesday after reports of a fire.

Pallets of hardwood were destroyed in the fire.
There were no injuries.
The OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal are investigating the fire, which police called "suspicious."

Abandoned house fires
It is another in a string of recent fires in the area.
Three abandoned houses have gone up in flames in the past month.
The first abandoned house fire was reported on Oct.14 on Third Line. Less than a week later on Oct.19, a second abandoned house fire was also reported on Third Line, less than a kilometre away. A third was reported Oct. 28 on Arkell Road.
Puslinch Fire and Rescue Services Chief Steve Goode said those house fires are being treated as arson.
