Kitchener has extended its snow event until Wednesday, meaning residents can't park on city streets.

The move was made to give city crews time to plow out all city streets.

Waterloo and Cambridge had already told residents they couldn't park on the street until Wednesday at 11:59 p.m.

In Kitchener, vehicles left on the street may be subject to an $80 parking ticket and could be towed at the owner's expense.

The city will only tow the number of vehicles necessary to allow for proper snow removal.

"In the event that some, but not all, vehicles are towed away, the remaining vehicles found in violation will be ticketed," the city noted.

Waterloo and Cambridge also warn vehicles could be towed if they are not moved.

The cities also reminded residents not to shovel snow from their driveway onto the road, as it can create unsafe driving conditions.
