EasyGO pass users told to verify GRT card is loaded after system glitch
Users told to check credit card statements to see if they've been charged
Users of the My EasyGo website are being told to check their passes to make sure they've been credited for the February payment, even if they've set up automatic renewal.
The system has had issues processing credit card payments this week. On Tuesday, users were told they couldn't pay for monthly passes online, but Grand River Transit said the issue had been resolved on Wednesday.
GRT said Friday the issues were "briefly resolved but have occurred again."
A notice to riders says monthly passes may not have been loaded onto EasyGO fare cards.
"Please check your credit card to see whether your card was charged for your February pass or your autoload," the notice said.
Not all GRT users are on the EasyGO pass system yet. Currently, university and college students use the system, as do select riders who are part of a pilot test group.
It's anticipated the cards, which you load with credit then tap when you get on transit, will be available to the general public in April, close to the start date of the Ion LRT.
Current users who find their cards have not been loaded can do so using their debit card online, in person at the Charles or Ainslie Street terminals or fill out a form to have the pass loaded manually, GRT says.
